Cleveland School of the Arts
Cleveland Play House (CPH) and Cleveland School of the Arts (CSA) partnership is an exciting model for engaging passionate young people in the theatre. CPH is dedicated to supporting the talented students at CSA in their pursuit of academic learning and artistic excellence. Our goal is to mentor CSA students and expose them to the intricacies of how a professional production is executed and to give them the opportunity to perform in a professional regional theatre. For the past eight years, Cleveland Play House has provided CSA with free tickets to student matinees, free rehearsal and performance space, access to CPH costumes and props, individualized workshops with professional theatre artists, and sponsored CSA student work on a professional level. By developing a significant relationship between a CMSD specialty school of the arts and a professional regional theatre, CPH hopes to set a national model of collaboration that can be emulated by theatre and performing arts schools across the country.
University Circle, Inc.
Linking Education and Discovery (LEAD)
Early Learning Initiative (ELI)
CPH partners with University Circle Inc.'s LEAD and ELI programs. ELI connects urban preschool teachers, students, and families to the assets of University Circle institutions. By utilizing the various institutional collections as the foundation for age-appropriate, object based, and multi-sensory lessons, institutions become extensions of the classroom.
The goal of LEAD is to utilize the collections and resources of Circle institutions to augment classroom-based instruction and provide a unique learning experience to students. LEAD offers K-8 students and teachers the opportunity to link their formal education with hands-on inquiry based activities available through a broad range of informal learning environments.
Young Audiences - Art Is Education
