Come early, stay late, and put the 'play' in 'playgoing' with our fun, fascinating, and FREE audience enrichment activities!

Reading Club

This unique group offers an enlightening and personalized interaction with three of this season's most intriguing plays: The Whipping Man; Bell, Book and Candle; and Rich Girl.

In a fun, social group setting, you'll spend 75 minutes with a member of the CPH Artistic Staff, who will provide insight into the play itself and lead a lively discussion about how directors, actors, and designers put their skills to use in taking a play from the page to the stage.

For one low price, you receive a copy of each script. And at no extra charge, you're allowed (and encouraged!) to bring your spouse, children (high school-age or older), and friends. To keep it affordable, you'll receive just one script for each production, but please feel free to share it with your invited guests.

To maintain an intimate atmosphere, Reading Club membership is limited, so contact our Subscription Services Office at (216) 400-7096 as soon as possible to reserve your place!

Reading Club membership is $10 per discussion, or just $30 for all three!

Members Receive:

  • A copy of the script approximately 4 weeks prior to meeting
  • Discussion questions to help guide your reading
  • An invitation to the Reading Club discussion on the Monday before performances begin.

All events begin at 6:30 and take place at the Allen Theatre Complex.

All dates are Monday evenings:

  • The Whipping Man: October 29th
  • Bell, Book and Candle: January 7th
  • Rich Girl: April 15th

Pre-show Conversations

Make your theatre experience even richer.

Led by CPH actors and staff, these fun and interactive half-hour conversations pull back the curtain early to let you connect with the people, themes, ideas and creative choices that go into each production, in an engaging and relaxed setting. Pre-show conversations take place 45 minutes before every CPH production.

It's free with your ticket purchase, and no reservation is necessary!

Post-show Discussions

Stay after the show to continue the dialogue started on stage.

Our Post-show Discussions are a chance to interact with the cast, creative team, local experts and fellow playgoers in a lively and wide-ranging discussion of each production and the questions it raises. Discussions take place after the second Tuesday and final three Sunday performances of each production.

It's free with your ticket purchase, and no reservation is necessary!
